NEET requires a recent postcard and passport photograph, a signature, and in recent cycles a thumb impression — each with its own KB range, all in JPG. NTA also requires the photo to carry your name and the date it was taken.

Common rejection reasons for NEET
1. Missing name and date on the photograph. This is NTA's signature requirement and the most common NEET failure. The photo must have your name and the date the photo was taken printed on it. A perfectly sized photo without this text is rejected.
2. Postcard photo forgotten. NEET has asked for both a passport-size and a 4×6 inch postcard-size photograph. Candidates prepare the passport one and get stopped at the postcard upload.
3. Thumb impression in the wrong ink or wrong thumb. Recent cycles have specified the left thumb, and sometimes a particular ink colour. Read the bulletin.
4. Selfie used as the photograph. NTA has explicitly disallowed selfies in past bulletins. Have someone else take the photo, front-facing against a plain background.
5. Face covered. Caps, sunglasses and anything obscuring the face are not permitted. Ordinary prescription glasses are generally acceptable for NEET, unlike passport photos — but verify against the current bulletin.
